The biggest issue with the Ohio Republican Party (ORP) is that it has lost all trust from us, the voters, and for good reason! From the recent FirstEnergy bribery scandal that led to the removal and indictment of the Republican Speaker of the House to the failure of the ORP to complete a full financial audit per the party bylaws, the ORP has a corruption issue that needs to be cleaned up. Unfortunately, the “swamp” is not just isolated to Washington D.C.
The current ORP is a party of back room deals that gives favors to “establishment elites” through appointments and party endorsements (i.e. DeWine endorsement in the primary). They do not care about us, the voters, which should be obvious over the last two years.
Before we can rebuild a party that is inspiring, we first have to build a foundation of TRUST and TRANSPARENCY! We need basic ethical reforms for the State Central Committee.
Medical Freedom may have been the biggest issue of the last two years in our state and country! If we do not have sovereignty over what enters our body or what medical treatments we receive, what freedom do we really have? No one should be discriminated against or lose their job based on what medical treatments they have or have not received. This is why I support the following be added to an ORP platform:
Being someone that relies heavily on my Catholic faith, I am 100% Pro-Life from conception to natural death WITHOUT exceptions. We need to replace abortion with ADOPTION! A loving family should not have to go into debt to welcome a child into their home. We need to streamline laws and regulations to make adoption as easy as loving a newborn baby. It does not stop there. We also need to support single mothers that feel like they have no other choice. Here are some of my favorite Pro-Life/Pro-Family Charities:
The integrity of elections is the entire foundation of our Constitutional Republic. We, the people, need to know that our votes are counted correctly. According to a 2021 Monmouth poll, 80% of Americans support requiring voters to show photo identification in order to cast a ballot. This is a common sense reform that has bipartisan support. Based on the many voting irregularities and disregard of election laws during the 2020 election, I support a full forensic audit. Both parties should welcome knowing that our elections are honest and secure.
“After all, the chief business of the American people is business. They are profoundly concerned with producing, buying, selling, investing and prospering in the world.” -President Calvin Coolidge
When government officials spend taxpayers’ money, it is inefficient to say the least. We can support business by limiting government with LESS Regulation, LESS Spending, and LOWERING Taxes! The American Entrepreneur needs the government to get out of the way. As a member of the State Central Committee, I will support these policy goals on a state-specific platform.
“What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.” – Thomas Jefferson
Unfortunately, recent geopolitical events have clearly displayed the necessity of the 2nd Amendment. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. It really is crystal clear. As a member of the State Central Committee, I will support passage of a Constitutional Carry bill as a part of a state-specific platform.
We need to institute policies that allow for education choice like “money follows the child.” What difference does it make if a private school educates children rather than a government school? Parents will choose to send their children to the schools that provide the best education, which will lead to a better, more productive society for all. I would also support tax credits for homeschooling in a state-specific party platform.
“The great enemy of the salvation of man, in my opinion, never invented a more effective means of limiting Christianity from the world than by persuading mankind that it was improper to read the Bible at schools.” -Dr. Benjamin Rush, signer of the Declaration of Independence
The often forgotten 10th Amendment of the United States Constitution: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
For over two centuries now, the Federal government has gradually usurped powers reserved for the States, and it has grown OUT OF CONTROL. The Federal government uses funding to gain compliance from the States. It is time for State governments to take back their rightful authority. As a member of the State Central Committee, I would recommend an Article V Convention of States as part of a state-specific platform. Seventeen states have already passed the Convention of States resolution. Ohio needs to be added to the list!
In conclusion, I am FOR reducing the size and scope of government and giving the POWER back to the PEOPLE!
